About Me
- www.thecreativeartisan.blogspot.com
- As a Mixed Media artist, fear of venturing down creative avenues, not taken by many, is an everyday journey for me. Finding and being inspired by people, music, and the positive flow of energy makes it way into a unique edginess for designing gift basket creations and handcrafted artisan jewelry. When I’m asked what inspires me, I feel that "I am a visionary artist inspired by community, diversity, tradition, culture, excitement and positive energy. Imagination gives me the license to break boundaries."

American Business Women's Association - Leadership Conference
Here is my friend Lois Baron Margolin. Lois was attending the National American Business WOmen's (ABWA) Leadership Conference in Dallas Texas.
I met Lois at the ABWA Regional Conference held in Atlanta March 2011. I was one of the vendors and she immediately gravitated to the earrings and bracelet she is wearing. Although she was leaving the next day for Florida she asked if I could make a necklace to match. Well, as you can see in the picture my mission was accomplished. I created the beads from polymer clay and then designed the pieces.
Lois thank you so much for supporting my business. You look simply fabulous.

Polymer Clay - Faux Bone Bracelet
Learning the technique to make this Faux bracelet was well worth the experience. This technique entailed learning how to blend colors to give it a bone look, using rubber stamps to provide the indentations for that tribal feel. Using acrylic paint as a wash and finishing off with some sanding and buffing.
Here is the end result:

Polymer Clay - Red & White
I love when people make special requests. A friend of mine wanted a special piece of jewelry for the Memorial day holiday. Her church had requested everyone to wear red, white and blue. She had decided what outfit she was going to wear and wanted a red & white neclace and bracelet.
This is what I created for her using polymer clay red glitter and white.

Polymer Clay - Cuff Bracelet Repaired
I always love a challenge. A good friend of mine had a silver cuff bracelet that had lost quite a few stones. She gave it to me to see if I could somehow replace the missing stone with polymer clay.
I studied the large stone that was in place to pick up some of the colors for the smaller polymer clay stones. I glued them in by using E-6000 glue. So tell me what you think!
Notice 5 stones that are missing. |

2011 Spring Polymer Clay Lollipops
There are so many versions of lollipops. Growing up I remembered we called them blow pops, tootsie roll pops, dum dums and the all time favorite, SUCKERS! Yes, this is April Fool's day so I just wanted to play with you and show you my version of non-edible SUCKERS!
I would like to introduce you to (from left to right) Luscious Grape, Sky Blue , Caribbean Orange, Indigo Blue and Poppin Pink. Which one is your favorite color?
Just to make your mouth water, here are a few of the my latest jewelry pieces.
Until next time,
Clayfully yours,
Linda
